For my GNU/Linux friends mostly. It'd be funny to have this thing in the repos, even if they're unoffical repos. Maybe also have something for Scoop (Wangslows package manager) and homebrew (MacOS).

Not really the highest priority, but it something I'd like to see.

I'm probably going to be called a pleb, but I use Ubuntu on the regular. Seeing as that is based on Debian, it's likely going to be able to install it as well, once the repo is added (whichever it might end up being).

Distro-Warring

Wait, people actually distro-war? I though that was an ironic meme people did in desktop threads when they ran out anime girls to put next to a neofetch.

We'd have to make a version for stable, testing, and unstable. Ubuntu is based off testing, so that'd be the best option. The Debian User Repository is pretty dead for now, but might be worth packaging there too.

I don't think that's ever going to die out. :D

Ubuntu is relatively popular, might be worth a shot. Or at the very least making it somewhat distro agnostic (for at least Debian-based distros anyway).

How do I add a new package to the archive?
Get interested in a package by using or developing it.
Discover that it isn't already available from the Debian archive.
Check if it can be packaged (licence, etc) and if it is already being packaged by someone else (via ITPs on https://bugs.debian.org/wnpp)

Review whether you can reasonably maintain this package. This includes the complexity of the package and your skill level, whether you're familiar with the programming language(s) used, and also whether upstream is active and you can expect reasonable support from them in bug-fixing and helping to handle bugs from Debian users.
File an ITP (intent to package) bug using reportbug (or the bug reporting e-mail address) against the wnpp package. This is done to prevent duplication of work, and is an essential step.

Create the package, getting help from the various resources listed in this FAQ and elsewhere.
Install and test your package thoroughly. Ask on the debian-mentors mailing list for people to check your packaging for errors and common problems.

If you're a DD already, you can just upload your package. Otherwise, upload your package somewhere that prospective sponsors can review it (such as https://mentors.debian.net/), and then find a sponsor to upload the package into the Debian archive for you.

Once you get your package sponsored, please tell the debian-mentors mailing list if you asked for sponsorship there, so that other prospective sponsors don't waste time reviewing your package and getting it ready for upload when it's already been uploaded. That way they can go on and upload someone else's package. This goes for any other places you asked for sponsorship, like other lists, IRC channels, etc -- let everyone know you got a sponsor, so we don't duplicate effort.

This is from : https://wiki.debian.org/DebianMentorsFaq#How_do_I_make_my_first_package.3F

What I am thinking, first, we would need to get the game to probably after Update 6. So that it won't be kicked back too much from the Mentors (without malice on any account, I'm sure it will be passed back and forth a few times to do tweaks). Additionally, I think it would be better to have the placeholder images replaced as well (the black and white ones), if it is an option, before filing an intent to package.

As for supporting it, I'd gladly help out with that in the longer term, too.
